Columbus, OH – The following statement can be attributed to Columbus Education Association President John Coneglio:
“As an 18-year social studies teacher who taught hundreds of CCS students about the basic responsibilities of elected officials and good governance, it is beyond disappointing that many of our Board Members, who should be looked to as examples of public service, are instead wallowed in plotting, infighting, cover-ups, and self-preservation.
Fortunately, there is one Columbus City Schools Board Member who had the courage to do right by our community. Board Member Ingles should be commended for her integrity and fortitude.
Amidst the chaos, thousands of CEA educators will continue to show up every day for our students and community. The stakes are too high to do anything else. Columbus students deserve better.”
The Columbus Education Association is the Union representing over 4,500 teachers, librarians, nurses, counselors, psychologists, and other education professionals in Columbus City Schools. The Columbus Education Association is a proud affiliate of the Ohio Education Association and the National Education Association.
